Tampa, Hillsborough, Florida, United States
Tampa Area Golf Course The latest appraisal of this course lays out the present state of the golf course. Pictures and all give the visual view as of the present. What cannot be seen is the 10,000 homes being built within a few miles of the course. Go north on Handcart road and see several thousand homes under construction. All within a 2 mile radius. More impressive is the County Route 56 corridor less than 3 miles distance, homes being built by the thousands, with commercial mixed in. A built-in base of golf players coming. This course is a diamond in the rough, needs some deferred maintenance, and the public will come and embrace the whole complex. Lovely layout designed and built by a noted architect. A gem waiting to be taken into the future by the right Buyer. Come see it.
This Tampa area course enjoys verdant landscaping and a rolling terrain that are perfectly complemented by mature and towering pines. At over 6,500 yards, the golf course is seemingly short but it feels like it plays much longer due to frequent doglegs that can be found throughout. Six of the par 4s play over 400 yards and a few par 3s measure over 200 yards, which also helps the course feel longer. Water hazards and bunkers come into play but they are balanced by large greens and wide fairways that make for easier approaches. Although beginners won't feel out of place and there are four different sets of tees, the golf course boasts several tricky holes that will challenge even the best players. One of these, the 163-yard 13th, was once called the best par 3 in Tampa Bay.
